Summer Programs for the Family at the Hurricane Library

Have you ever been to an Instrument Petting Zoo or seen Cookie Monster constructed from clay on a real whirling potter’s wheel? These are just 2 of the exciting programs being offered for families at the Library this summer. Beginning on June 2nd, two programs will be slated on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 10:30 and repeated at 11:30 a.m. with the last program on July 30th. Best of all, these programs are FREE!

June 2:
MATTERLAND – Be the molecule! Come play liquids, solids, and gases.
June 4:
POTTERY WHEELIN’ – Steve Jones will have his pottery wheel awhirlin’, making all kinds of creations

June 9:
HAIR CREATIONS for boys and girls by Angela Starley.

June 11:
PAINT THE CISTINE CHAPEL – Learn about Michelangelo from Lori Wrankle, with some hands-on painting

June 16:
NAME THAT TUNE – musical creations and sound learning with Brenda Thomas.

June 18
HURRICANE ROYALTY – fun, games, entertainment from these amazing teen girls

June 23:
PUPPETS ANYONE? – Miriam Force from the county 4-H will see to it that you have a great time!

ILLUSTRIOUS ILLUSTRATORS-How did Eric Carle draw the HUNGRY CATERPILLAR? Jenny Douglas explores children’s illustrators.

STRUNG ALONG – Fun with string , yarn, and weaving. Gloria Larson.

LEGENDS, LORE & MUSIC – Heber White helps children explore music through stories

WILD THEATER GAMES – Michael Harding from Dixie College’s Drama Dept. will have you rockin and rollin’ –he’s wild!

July 9:
SPRAY PAINT ART – Miriam Force and family will help you get creative!

July 14:
INDIAN ROCK ART – learn about our local historic art – create your own.

July 16:
TIE-DYED MILK – Jenny Douglas experiments with color, science,ending with an art project.

July 21:
INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOO – check out the musical instruments – do they blat, do they bleat, do they blare? Glenda and Scott Morrisse

July 23:
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST – songs and dancing from St. George Musical Theater’s children’s group
